37-car grid confirmed for our opening round at Sandown

The expected 37-car grid has been confirmed for this weekend’s race meeting at Sandown Raceway. The event will be the opening round for both the 2022 Australian Formula Ford Series and the 2022 Victorian Formula Ford Championship.

With a field of this size and a good mix of rookies and more experienced drivers, we are expecting some exciting racing across the whole field. Spectators are allowed back at the track this weekend, so make sure you head down to Sandown Raceway if you can! Both our qualifying sessions and all three races will also be broadcasted live by BlendLine TV on the Victorian State Racing Series Facebook page.

This is what our schedule will look like across the three-day event:

Friday – not timed, nor live streamed

Practice 1 – 11:35am
Practice 2 – 2:30pm
Practice 3 – 5:40pm

Saturday – live timing on Natsoft and live streaming on Vic State Racing Series Facebook

Qualifying 1 (Kent cars) – 9:30am
Qualifying 2 (Duratec cars) – 9:50am
Race 1 (combined field) – 2:30pm

Sunday - live timing on Natsoft and live streaming on Vic State Racing Series Facebook

Race 2 (combined field) – 9:30am
Race 3 (combined field) – 1:40pm

A presentation for both the National and State rounds will be held approximately 30 minutes after the end of race 3. Location will be confirmed at drivers briefing on Saturday morning.

A category barbecue will also be held on Saturday at about 12:30pm in front of pit lane garage 16.
