14-year old Kyle Evans gives it his all on the race track in his Black Hyundai Excel and this weekend brings it home for a Podium position at Morgan Park Raceway CAMS Round 2 on Sunday 30 June 2019. In the 20-minute tough qualifying session Kyle Evans achieved a 1:34.192 bringing it home in 6th place against the 23-competitor line up with missing Pit Crew Brett Evans made Kyle anxious.
A decision to double check weight on the scales was a bonus to Kyle as seven Hyundai Excel competitors went underweight. A huge thank you to Lee-Anne Maker-Evans for getting Kyle to the track, and to Troy Perrins, Nick Ashwin and Glenn Bartholomew for assisting with the final touches to car preparation. With nerves of steel, determination, focus and a never give up attitude Kyle entered the track with to do his best for his race day ahead. Race one Kyle Evans commenced in 6th place with some big contenders in front on the standing start line up with Wilson, Wood, Gautier, Giblin and Connors. Kyle had Bartholomew and Feeney hot on his heels behind him in seventh and eighth position waiting for any opportunity to overtake. Kyle took on the challenge and finished the eighth lap race in 4th position with Wilson, Woods and Bartholomew in front of him. With Pit Crew, Brett Evans back on the scene Kyle discussed his achievements and necessary changes to the car to improve his times and place on track. Race two was a ten-lap race and Kyle finished in 3rd place with a 1:34.523 with Wilson and Bartholomew ahead.
After a well-rested night and a well-earned steak for his effort of the previous day from Kyle Evans Motorsport Team. Kyle Evans commenced Sunday on a high. Kyle drove to the starting grid in 3rd position and battled race three with Cameron Bartholomew and finished in 4th position.The final race for the day and weekend was Race 4 with Kyle Evans commencing in 4th position on the grid behind Wilson, Gautier and Bartholomew.
With Kyle Evans never give up attitude saw a battle between Bartholomew with Kyle taking Kyle in front of Cameron Bartholomew on Gumtree finishing the eight-lap race in second place behind Cameron Wilson.With Kyle Evans improving every race over the weekend and steadily moving to the front of the field he achieved an outstanding overall 3rd position for the CAMS Round 2 at Morgan Park Raceway on Sunday 30 June 2019. Overall winners for the weekend were 1st place Cameron Wilson, 2nd place Cameron Bartholomew and 3rd place Kyle Evans. Kyle was pumped and excited by his achievements during the weekend. Kyle Evans thanked his sponsors EzyStone Benchtops, TPS Suspension and Velocity Motorsports Magazine for their support of his passion for Motorsport and thought the podium place was “AWESOME” and looking forward to many more in the future.
